It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Understanding sites
As is the case with computer networks, even in ADs there are physical and logical topologies too. Hence, a domain represents the logical topology, whereas the site represents the physical topology in an AD infrastructure. From that, the site actually represents the physical location of the computer network.
