In an AD, a computer account identifies a computer in a domain. Before joining a computer to a domain, its hostname is required to be unique in a network. Once a computer joins a domain, it continues to use its computer name for communication with other computers and servers in a network. Computer accounts are managed through the Active Directory Users and Computers console, as shown in Figure 5.23:
