When a server is booted, BIOS performs a hardware test known as a POST. A POST is a diagnostic test that verifies that the server hardware is working correctly. Regardless of the BIOS manufacturer, it is good practice to learn the beeps that the POST produces during server hardware initialization. It is recommended that you keep an eye on the components, such as the processors, RAM, and graphics cards, as they are the first three components to be examined by a POST. If any of these components are faulty, then the server boot fails.
