It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Understanding UEFI
Unlike computers in the past, modern computers do not have legacy BIOS; instead, they are equipped with a UEFI, as shown in Figure 11.11. Unlike BIOS, a UEFI is easily updated by downloading updates from the manufacturer's website. It supports 32-bit and 64-bit modes, and boots from disks with capacities that are far larger than BIOS:
