I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Understanding file sharing protocols
File sharing protocols enable data sharing over LANs, WANs, and the internet. The most used file sharing protocols are as follows:
- Server Message Block (SMB), also known as the Common Internet File System (CIFS), is a file sharing protocol used mostly by Windows OSes.
- Network File System (NFS) is a file sharing protocol used mostly by Unix and Linux.
- File Transfer Protocol (FTP) enables file sharing by transferring files from site to site.
- Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) enables file sharing over a World Wide Web (WWW) service.
- Secure Shell (SSH) enables remote file sharing over a secure connection.
