It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Understanding WINS
To automate NetBIOS name resolution, you can use Microsoft's WINS server. A WINS server maps the IP addresses to NetBIOS names. The NetBIOS names are the names that are used when your computer is connecting to a shared folder or printer. WINS is a feature in Windows Server 2019 and can be added through Server Manager using the Add Roles and Features Wizard, as shown in Figure 5.14:
