Various adaptations of SECM have been developed to decrease
the complexity and reduce the size of the original device that
include a spectrometer and a dual-prism GRISM (combination
of a grating and a prism) (Pitris et al. 2003), a wavelength-swept
source and point detector (Boudoux et al. 2005), and a helical
scanner (Yelin et al. 2007a). However, all of these systems still
require a scanner to develop a two-dimensional image. Two
recent congurations have removed the need for any scanner.
