and is being actively commercialized. In addition, applications
in areas such as neurology (Boppart et al. 1998, Jafri et al. 2005),
gynecology, for the diagnosis of ovarian cancer (Boppart et al.
1999, Hariri et al. 2009), and urology, for the diagnosis of pros-
tate cancer (D’Amico et al. 2000) and kidney disease (Li et al.
2009, Onozato et al. 2010) are advancing rapidly (Figure 13.11).
