main target for the learning process in DietMaster is the case base. But Diet-

Master may also learn general knowledge through interactions with the user

during problem solving.

Heuristic rules are integrated within the conceptual model and are

available for the same tasks as the conceptual domain model in general. A

rule may be used to support learning, for example. Even if the explanatory

strength of a shallow relationship like a rule in general is low, it may add to

other explanations for the same hypothesis and, thus, contribute to a justi-

ﬁcation of a hypothesis.
