Make: Robotic Arms

efore we start building our awesome robotic

arms, we need to take a closer look at the

building blocks that make up robotics projects.

This stage of the learning process is always so

much fun. When I start leading students through

their first few robotics projects, it’s always exciting

to see their reaction when their circuits start to

move and come to life! For our robotics projects

here in this book, we’ll be relying on one of my

favorite types of electric motors: the servo. In this

chapter, our first step will be to get these little

guys moving, and then we’ll look at some helpful

ways to control them.
