N
ow that we have a ton of great examples
for controlling two-DOF 2D robotic arms,
it’s time to take things to the next level and
assemble our first 3D robotic arm. Though this
next arm might look more complicated, most
of our code and even our inverse-kinematics
calculations will look very similar to our previous
examples. The biggest difference in our new
design is the addition of three new motors, which
will allow us to add a degree of freedom, and
control of a gripper for our end effector. Now that
we’re dealing with 3D robots, we now have three
degrees of freedom within our robotic arm.
