on pin 2, the push-button would be useless, as it
would always be connected, and pushing the push-
button wouldn’t change the circuit. This is why we
typically connect the input wire of the push-button to
pins 1 or 2 and the output wires to pins 3 or 4.
Let’s look at our next circuit and build it on a
breadboard!
STEP 1
This circuit is very simple (Figure
1-29
). All we’ve
done is connect the input of the push-button to
digital pin 2 on our Arduino and connect the output
of our push-button to the ground pin on our Arduino,
making a very basic, but complete, circuit. Let’s write
some code and get our push-button working.
