THE JOY OF
JOYSTICKS
Chapter
5
I
n the previous chapter, we began
constructing our second robotic-arm
model. This second design was made
up of four links, had two actuators, and
represented a remix of our first two-DOF
robotic arm. While writing test software
for the arm, we saw that in order to
control the location of the end effector of
our robotic arm, we needed both motors
to work together. The movement of the
system requires various combinations
of each motor moving together, farther
apart, in the same direction, in the
opposite direction, and so on.
