
138 Make: Robotic Arms
Now that we have built our next robotic arm, it’s time to test our actuators
to make sure things are working as expected. This will also allow us to
determine our robotic arm’s range of motion. Let’s write a quick set of for
loops that will allow us to see our individual joints in action.
First, let’s write some code for the base of our robot. Look at the grid
structure, and you’ll notice that even though our servos can rotate from 0 to
180 degrees, in order to reach every point on our grid, we need our base to
rotate only from 0 to 90 degrees, so we’ll start there:
