It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
This chapter kicked off the book with a fairly technical bang. I didn't want to leave anything to chance when it came to your understanding of XML syntax and the overall structure of XML documents. Additionally, I wanted you to have a solid footing on the origins of XML and its relationship to related technologies, such as HTML and SGML. Finally, I thought it would be helpful for you to understand the current state of XML—how it is being displayed with style sheets, the browsers that are supporting it, and how it is parsed.
