XML Approaches to EDI
If XML is supposed to help electronic commerce, how will it do so in the case of EDI? This is a tricky question because the problems that most people want to address aren't the ones that the EDI community is most interested in addressing.
This section first will look at how Web technologies, including XML, address many of the same issues as EDI's infrastructure. Then it'll look at some of the broader problems of Internet commerce, including brief looks at some XML-enabled initiatives there. Finally, it will return to look at the specific problem of EDI.
