So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting Up to Speed with RDF
I mentioned earlier that the P3P harmonized vocabulary for encoding privacy policies is based upon the RDF vocabulary. RDF was mentioned briefly in Chapter 17, "Browsing XML." Let's take a moment to get more acquainted with RDF and learn why it forms the basis of P3P.
RDF is a metalanguage that is used to add semantics to resources on the Web. Most Web resources contain content only and include no information about the nature of that content. For example, a GIF image of a lion contains no machine-readable information to indicate that the image is of a lion.
