So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The main premise behind XML is the creation of markup vocabularies consisting of custom elements (tags). When you consider creating custom elements within a closed environment, the naming of the elements isn't too critical because you can create unique element names. However, when you look at the broader picture of blending many custom XML vocabularies on the Web, unique naming becomes a difficult (if not impossible) task without some sort of additional naming scheme. Fortunately, there is such a naming scheme, and it involves namespaces.
