Azure AD Pass-through authentication (PTA) enables organizations to continue to have a Single Sign-on (SSO) experience on their domain-joined devices, even those running Windows versions prior to Windows 10, and provides audit trail capabilities quite similar to AD FS, without the infrastructure overhead typically associated with implementing a highly available AD FS infrastructure.
