Before choosing the right AD FS farm deployment method, it's a good idea to get to know the organization. For example, its size and its intended use of AD FS will set the requirements for the number of AD FS servers that you will need. Its network layout may determine the available bandwidth between the datacenters and the AD FS servers in these datacenters.
