So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
By default, bridgehead servers are dynamically set to domain controllers by the Knowledge Consistency Checker (KCC). However, bridgehead servers can also be set manually to accommodate even the most complex routing challenges in a networking environment.
When a domain controller is set as the bridgehead server for an Active Directory partition, but becomes unavailable, replication stops for that partition to the Active Directory site where the domain controller resides. Hence, you should configure at least two bridgehead servers per site when possible.
