It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
What You've Learned
There are no DIY parts in a Mac mini. If you open a Mac mini for any reason, and any damage to the unit results, the repair of such damage will not be covered under Apple's warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan.
Gaining access to a particular component often requires the removal of other components first.
Whenever you work on the internal components of an Mac mini, it's imperative to follow proper ESD procedures.
You must unplug the AC power cord to prevent the Mac mini from turning on during the Take Apart procedure.
