As we've seen, relationships often develop around our perceived competence to interact with someone: a spouse, customer, friend, or coworker. The promises we make in each of these different situations will be essentially the same. We'll modify our behavior as appropriate to deliver on them in each instance, but through all the various relationship encounters we have, we'll constantly return to a common foundation—our brand promise.
