最も簡単にRをインストールするには、（ホームページの先頭にある）適切なバイナリを入手すれ
ばよい。また、Rは主要なパッケージマネージャでサポートされている。以降では、R のグラフィカ
ルインタフェースで使うことを前提とする。
Rを利用するためのツールは他にもたくさんある。これまで使ってきたツールや環境に応じて選ぶ
ことができる。RStudio（http://www.rstudio.com）は、より伝統的なIDEフレームワークでデータ、
プロジェクト、タスク管理ツールを提供する統合開発環境である。Emacsユーザであれば、Emacs
Speaks StatisticsやESS-mode（http://ess.r-project.org）が対話的な環境を提供する。
