Preparing an Image to Be Scanned

Scanners today are fantastic. They can scan at higher resolutions and capture a greater range of colors than scanners made only a few years ago. Regardless of how good they are, many scanned images don't look as good as they should simply because the image or the scanner wasn't properly prepared before scanning.
