Adding a Snow Globe Effect to the Composition

Do you like snow globes? You know, those orb-shaped knickknacks with snowmen in which snow appears to fall when you shake them? No? You hate them? My wife is crazy about them. And I (almost) always do whatever my wife likes. So, let's add some snowflakes in the bubble:

The Forecast Calls for Snow

Click on the Upper Background layer to make this the active layer. Alt(Opt)+click on the Create a new layer icon at the bottom of the Layers palette. Name the new layer Snowflakes, and click on OK. Choose Select, Load Selection, choose Inside Bubble from the Channels drop-down list, and click on OK.

Click on the foreground color of the toolbox, and choose a pale whitish-blue color from the Color Picker ...
