Lack of Information
One of the biggest barriers to supply chain integration is the lack of information, or worse, inac-
curate information. The lack of information is an obvious problem; however, it may be difcult
to identify inaccurate information until it becomes so blatant that it causes major problems.
Sometimes, information sharing is inhibited by individuals or company cultures, a topic
we discuss later in this chapter. However, there may be potential technology barriers to
information, or knowledge, sharing, such as those in the following list:
