Introduction
This is a book about supply chain development and management. Supply chains are made
up of a complex variety of businesses and support organizations. In this book, we first
describe the component parts and then explain how they are put together to make an
integrated entity—the supply chain—that provides products and services the consumer
wants, effectively and efciently.
