Table 16.3 shows how Apple’s sales were distributed among markets in 2011 and 2012.
Although sales increased overall in 2012 over 2011 by 45%, the highest increase was in
Japan and the lowest in Europe, perhaps reecting the economic recovery in Japan and
the continuing slump in Europe.
Table 16.4 shows sales by product segment. As in Table 16.3, the overall increase of
45% in dollars showed the highest increase in new products such as the iPhone and the
