In December 1985, Sydney Pollack’s wonderful romantic film Out Of Africa was released to theatres around the world. Based on the books by the main character in the film, Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen), the story reveals a passionate and doomed love affair in 1913 Kenya. John Barry’s film score is big, slow, and full of breath as it accompanies gorgeous shots of the wide-open African countryside.
