The beautiful “Morning Mood” from Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 was heard around the world as the Nescafé coffee theme. Composed in 1875 as part of the incidental music of Henrik Ibsen’s play Peer Gynt, Grieg later chose “Morning Mood” along with seven other pieces from the complete set of pieces that accompanied the play performances to form two suites.
