The da capo aria is a type of ternary form (ABA) that was used quite often in the Baroque period. It got its name from the Italian term da capo (from the head). Either da capo or D.C. would be written at the end of the B section in the musical score, indicating that the performers should return to the top (the head) of the score. The performers would then perform to the end of the A section, marked with the term fine (ending).
