I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Start Screen
When you’ve signed on, Windows 8 displays the Start screen, shown in Figure 3.2. This window replaces the old Windows Start menu, and it’s the gateway to everything that you do in Windows 8. Removing the Start menu has been a controversial move; however, if you think of it as an enlarged start menu that just happens to fill the screen, it’s really not such a big change. We talk more about the Start screen in Chapter 4, “Using the Windows 8 Interface.” Here, we just want to point out a few things, and you may want to follow along with your copy of Windows as we go:
• You can bring up the Start screen at any time by pressing the Windows logo key.
