It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

You’ve seen so far that Windows 8 takes a number of steps to relieve you of the burden of managing your hard disks and other drives:
• Windows 8 monitors your hard disk for errors, automatically repairs corruption that can be self-healed, scans other errors automatically during the maintenance window, and prompts you to restart your PC to conduct spot fix repairs.
• Windows 8 optimizes your drives automatically once a week (or whatever schedule you choose).
• Storage spaces enable you to easily combine multiple drives into a single storage area of any size where data can span the drives and is protected by resiliency.
