Surfing web pages with the desktop version of Internet Explorer is straightforward and easy, but even experienced users might not be aware of all the ways they can open and navigate pages. Here’s a review of all the techniques you can use to open a web page in desktop Internet Explorer:

Type a URL in any Address bar—Internet Explorer and all Windows 8 folder windows have an Address bar. To open a page, type the URL in the Address bar and press the Enter key.

Type a URL in the Run dialog box—Press Windows Logo+R, type the URL you want in the Run dialog box, and click OK.
