I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Choosing Equipment
You need to purchase equipment that is compatible with the particular type of Internet service you’ll be using. Your computer might have come with a modem preinstalled; therefore, if you will be using dial-up service, you might not have to make any decisions. If you will be buying new connection hardware, here are some points to consider:
• Broadband service requires a modem that your ISP will either provide, sell, or lease (rent) to you. Typically, DSL modems are given to you as part of the deal, but cable providers want to ding you every month—and it adds up!
