I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Providing Remote Access
You also can provide connectivity to your network from the outside world, either through the Internet or via a modem. This connectivity enables you to access your LAN resources from home or out in the field, with full assurance that your network is safe from outside attacks. Chapter 37, “Computing on the Road,” covers dial-up and VPN network access, and Chapter 39, “Remote Desktop and Remote Access,” covers Remote Desktop.
If you need to access your network from outside and you aren’t planning to have a permanent direct Internet connection, you might want to plan for the installation of a telephone line near one of your Windows 8 computers so that you can set up a dedicated modem line for incoming access.
