7.1 Importance of Quality in Supplies
In Chapter 3, we discussed the quality methods that are used when products
are designed to meet the needs of the customer, and the processes designed
to make products according to the design� In Chapters 4 and 5, we discussed
the methods employed during production to prevent the manufacture of
defective products� This chapter concerns itself with the methods of assur-
ing quality in materials, parts, and subassemblies purchased from outside
