Investigating application latency

You may have noticed that, while deleting todos doesn't throw errors, the operation seems unnecessarily slow. However, the round trip for deleting a todo involves several steps. The browser makes an API call to todos-frontend, which relays the request to todos-backend, which then executes the operation on Cloud SQL. The latency could be coming from any one of these steps. To investigate, click on the Trace list tab from within the Stackdriver Trace UI.
