Object data

As far as Cloud Storage is concerned, an object's data is just an unstructured binary blob. As we mentioned, Cloud Storage is a storage solution for dealing with unstructured data. In practice, this translates into all data being opaque to the platform. Cloud Storage doesn't try to make sense of the data it hosts. An object's data can range in size from 0 bytes to 5 TB.

While Cloud Storage is an ideal platform for hosting unstructured data, it is equally capable of hosting structured data, such as database exports, CSV files, or anything else. As we'll see in later sections, many other Google Cloud services leverage Cloud Storage to do exactly that.
