Nearline and Coldline Storage
As mentioned previously, Nearline Storage and Coldline Storage are Google's cold data storage solutions, but they really don't fit the mold of traditional cold storage. Both storage classes offer the same latency, throughput, and durability as Regional and Multi-Regional Storage. Whereas many other cold storage solutions involve waiting long periods of time for data to become available, Nearline and Coldline Storage remain readily available as soon as they are needed.
As with other cold storage solutions, Nearline and Coldline Storage carry a significantly lower storage cost than their hot storage counterparts. Nearline runs at $0.01 per GB per month and Coldline at $0.007 per GB per month. The tradeoff here ...
