As the name implies, high-CPU machine types (n1-highcpu) offer machines that have a higher vCPU to RAM ratio than n1-standard machine types. These machines offer one vCPU per each 0.9 GB of RAM. The high-cpu machines follow the same naming convention as n1-standard, where the trailing number in the machine type name indicates the total number of vCPUs available for that type.
Because of their relative decrease in RAM, the n1-highcpu machine types carry a lower instance-hour bill rate than their n1-standard counterparts, at about 75% the cost per vCPU. This makes the high-CPU family a good fit when memory requirements are relatively low.
The n1-highcpu machines start at n1-highmem-2, with 2 vCPUs and 1.8 GB of RAM. These ...
