IP addresses on Google Cloud Platform are fairly straightforward. Addresses may be internal or external, ephemeral or static, and regional or global, with different combinations serving different purposes. Many resources in GCP must be addressable via standard networking protocols, including Compute Engine instances, forwarding rules, and load balancers. Google provides a number of features for how these resources are addressed.
