Alerting on resource pressure
Because Cloud SQL doesn't support automatic scaling of instance resources beyond storage capacity, it's important for teams to ensure proper alerting is in place for key system metrics. This will likely include disk utilization, CPU utilization, memory utilization, and active connections. Alerts for each of these metrics can be configured using Stackdriver alerting. We'll take a closer look at this in Chapter 11, Stackdriver.
