Regional configurations
In regional configurations, replication occurs across zones within a single region, providing availability in the event of a zonal outage, with a 99.99% availability SLA. In a regional configuration, Cloud Spanner maintains a read-write replica in three separate zones, and data is fully replicated within each of these zones. At the time of writing, regional configurations are available in eight regions across three continents. Regional configurations are ideal for applications that involve a geographically concentrated user base.
