Sustained use discounts

Sustained use discounts are applied to projects that use large amounts of instance-hours in a given month. Sustained use discounts are applied automatically, and instance-hours are aggregated from all instances within the project. This means that 30 n1-standard-1 instances running for one day will accrue the same discount rate as a single n1-standard-1 instance running for 30 days.

Sustained use discounts are applied in steps, where each step represents a total percentage of instance-hours running in a month. For example, instance hours over 25% of the total month receive a discount rate of 80% of the base rate.
