So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Monitoring Enhancements
SQL Server 2014 also introduces a few new dynamic management views (DMVs) and enhancements to existing DMVs. These have mostly been in support of Availability Groups and managing the lock priority of online operations but have also added some additional columns to several other DMVs. The DMV enhancements include:
sys.xml_indexes—Includes 3 new columns: xml_index_type, xml_index_type_description, and path_id.
sys.dm_exec_query_profiles—New DMV to monitor real time query progress while a query is in execution.
