First of all, make sure the cluster service is up and running (via Services in the Server Manager). Also, as you can see in Figure 44.7, the two nodes and the cluster are in the “UP” state.

Note
If the cluster service is not started and won’t start, you cannot install SQL Server failover clustering. You have to remove and then reinstall WSFC from scratch. You should browse the Event Viewer to familiarize yourself with the types of warnings and errors that can appear with WSFC.
