FileTable Prerequisites
Two main prerequisites must be satisfied before a FileTable can be created. The first prerequisite is at the server level and involves enabling FILESTREAM on the SQL Server instance. The means for enabling FILESTREAM is covered in the “Enabling FILESTREAM Storage” section earlier in this chapter.
The second prerequisite involves enabling directory name and nontransactional access on the database where the FileTable will be located. This is accomplished by right-clicking on the target database, selecting Properties, and then configuring the FILESTREAM Directory Name and FILESTREAM Non-Transacted Access options, as shown in Figure 21.12.
