I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Capture the Workload
Use the SQL Server Profiler to capture a workload that will be applied by Distributed Replay. Use the Profiler template named TSQL_Replay. This template captures the columns and events that are needed to replay a workload. If you exclude any of them, you will not be able to preprocess your trace file. Also, it is highly recommended that you capture your workload using a server side trace rather than the Profiler GUI. Refer to Chapter 5 “SQL Server Profiler” for a more detailed discussion of SQL Server Profiler and how to capture a trace file.
